I love mornings! I love mornings in Cebu!
And as much as I would love to wake up every morning to be a witness to the glorious awakening of the earth, sometimes I still find myself buried under the pillows with the blanket covering me. It’s warmth whispering hypnotically, “Sleep! Sleep some more…sleeeeep!” I try to open my eyes and it would not cooperate. Groan.
But there are days when the longing to connect with mother nature is so great that I ignore these whisperings and fling the blankets out of the way so I could jump out of the bed. And lo and behold, my heart sings with delight.

This was the view from our balcony one Tuesday morning. This was the view of the Cebu sky! I spent the next fifteen minutes or so in silence as I watched in awe. Awed as night slowly turned into day. The transformation left me breathless. There was no rush.
Time stood still. My eyes feasted on the array of oranges that signaled the dawn of a brand new day. I stared intently into the great unknown until I could make out the round sun coming out from the mountains. I smiled with delight. It seemed to be saying, “Good morning world! Good morning Cebu! Are you ready for a brand new day?’
I laughed aloud at my silliness! I surveyed my surroundings but everyone was still asleep. A neighboring dog barked. The chickens responded by crowing. A tiny brown bird swooped in front of me chirping all the while. Well, I was not the only one awake after all! Hahahaha
Mornings remind me that there is a beginning to all things. The birth of a child. The first steps. The first kiss. The planting of a seed. Growing up. Getting married. The leap of faith. Discovery. Connecting with the Divine. Loving yourself. Caring for others. Mornings remind me that each goal starts with one simple first step. Mornings remind me of hope that today I can start anew. I have a clean slate and I will paint the most beautiful of colors to fill my day. This was my morning in Cebu.
I am deeply grateful to be alive so I can have the chance to view the birth of a new morning. I should do this as many times in a week, huh?
God, I would whisper softly, “Thank you for a brand new day!
Good morning to you my friend. Good morning Cebu, Philippines!

What do you see outside your window? Or balcony?
This curious kitty wants to know…meow!
Michelle Simtoco

I see the start of the fall falliage as the leaves are beginning to turn colors, flaming red, sunrise orange & golden yellows. Yesterday was official start of the fall season.
I also see the bees enjoying the sunflowers from the extra seeds I threw over the fence.
What a beautiful sunrise you shared from your balcony. Thank you. To a new day; a new beginning.
Dottie! I love autumn and wish someday to view the changing colors of the leaves from the window of your house! LOL Thank you for sharing the view from your window. A truly exquisite one.
To new beginnings!
Cheers! Beautifully written, Michelle. so much inspiration and positivity! I like it!
Beautiful words and picture too!
Good morning Sheila! Thanks for the visit. I’m really curious about your blogging job. Busy…busy…busy…that I know! Now you better breathe in there a little bit and enjoy the Cebu sky. Take care! See ya
Good morning Sweetiepie! I missed you! Hmmm you are making me wonder what your view from your balcony is like. Is it similar to the view from Cebu? Or is it now fall too with the autumn leaves?!! Share, share, share! LOL
Well I live in Southern California, so we are still very hot, hot, hot
. When I look out my balcony I can see the mountains, but it is still warm up there too this time of year. In a couple of months we will get colder weather, but in Southern California all we really get is rain. The trees begin to lose their leaves down here, but these just turn brown. Up in the mountains the leaves will start turning pretty yellow colors around this time though. I will maybe try to take a picture since I am up at this I am up so early
.
Oh, it’s hot, hot, hot huh? Hahahah I like that…the view of the mountains and rain too. Yes, do take a photo and post it in your blog.
That would be cool!
What a beautiful, beautiful morning you had to share…I think the blankets speaking would be falling on deaf ears afer just one day of such an awesome dispaly from mother nature. What an incredible analogy to the new beginnings we have each and every moment in our lives. My new home in North Carolina has a river running past right outside of the front steps with hard woods surrounding and squirrels running round about. The natural flow of natures waters reminds me of the flow of our life as it always progresses somewhere new and exciting.
When Daisy and I were reading your comment, both of us said “wow!” at the same time–at your new home and the image you see outside. Okay, one day, we would want to visit your house too (if you would kindly welcome us) Hahahahhaha Thanks for the warmth and beautiful sharing. I’m really enjoying seeing different views from different people all over the world. Good morning North Carolina all the way from Cebu Philippines!!!
You are both always welcome as I hope I would be in Cebu Philippines. I have been so blessed as the things I dream of are manifesting even more magnificent than I dare to imagine. Good morning from Swannanoa North Carolina, thanks again for sharing your morning and so much more.
What an awesome, Godfilled photo of your side of the fence. It gave me little chills, but you know by now, I get emotional. hehe.
My view from the window at the moment is facing our back garden, and I see the trees recieving sunlight and a gentle breeze is caressing them while I type these words. If I open the window, I will hear water fountains in the background. I just turned to my left, and wow, I noticed a huge oak tree in the distance, which I had not paid attention to. If I stand up, the window faces a farm, which to my eyes look like just acres and acres of grass and clean air.
Your message is inspiring, everyday is an opportunity to start afresh, we are born everyday.
Thanks for opening my mind and heart to see my view from my window from Oregon!
How did I end up with that avatar? LOL!!!
Sue: That would be wonderful!
